"1 day down"

That's what i told myself as i step out to a cooling evening today after work..  on my way to a well deserved pampering session for my hardworking fingernails and toenails.
I just need to say this five times and my weekends are nearer.

What did i do last weekend?
Saturday slept (until enough) then we had brunch and went to meet Vincent at East Coast Road at a Filipino Cafe. While the guys ordered coffee, i had their corn dessert. I think they used half a pack of crushed corn kernels in cream style. It was served with ice shavings and a small cup of sugar syrup for me to add for taste. Good for a corn lover like me. Hee..

As DD's hp continued to hang and jam up causing huge distubance to his business and daily work, he wanted to get HTC Snap. So we proceeded to Parkway Parade to check out M1. No chance - they did not have the model. At the same time, i checked out my next Sony Ericsson - in case mine dies on me suddenly..
We went home for a quick dinner then went to COSBT. DD waited for me while i went for Saturday Night Service.
It was a great message by Yoke Hiong. Although i was without a bible, but her presentation slides were well packed with information about the message that Jeremiah, the prophet had to bring to the people on behalf of God.
The message was clear: That God would not leave us or forsake us...and His plans are not to harm us but to prosper us... I was also reminded about the grace of God for us once again - bringing me back to basic.
Do you know how God look at us?  Do you wonder How do we look like to God?
I used to think, we look like"tiny ants" to God.. Hee.. cos He is so big mah.. and we are just one of his creation out of the many millions in this whole universe...

Then we went to have a late dinner of prata at the coffee shop at home. Recently, i had craving for heavy tastes - tom yum, curry, kim chi, laksa.. i finished the prata's curry till no last drop was left, until i had no space to finish my last few mouthful of egg prata.
Our new tenants have moved in, so we went check them out. They have a lot of things, some still overspilling into the living room. But rules were made clear, we should not see any more of their belongings in our living room area the next time we are there.
We have to throw away those old furniture left down by my previous tenants.
Also we could not thank enough for Ken stayed up to paint the tenant's room the previous day.
(Although he had a close shave with H1N1, tested negative. He had fever after returning from Macau and the poor boy had self quarantine at home and eat egg tarts all by himself... )

Sunday - we had our Milk Run event at Jiak Kim Road (Zouk). We woke up early for breakfast at Cross Street market then DD drove me there. It was a warm hot day to begun with.. i was one of the volunteer at the Baggage Counter. Most of the coordination were done by the event organisers. 19 of us just needed to sit in the tent and "work" when ppl came to give us their baggages for safekeep. We had stickers to tag their bag. The stickers are similar to those stickers used by check in counters for your lugages at the airport.
At the same time, we would give them a smaller sticker of the same tag number so that they can show us for bag retrieval later after their run.
But sitting there under the humidity was no joke, from 11am till 1.30pm. Besides some girls going for toilet break, we had to chit chat and fan ourselves with cardboard to keep (ourselves) cool and occupied. I was feeling sleepy after some mouthful of munchies from the packed lunch in a nice bento plastic set - but it was not japanese. I finised the small portion of long beans though. At around 1.30pm, people started to turn up for the event. We kept wishing the icecream man could ring his bell - im sure those who weren running for the event will also run to the icecream-man.
Next year i will bring icecream there to sell.  haha!!!
But we had satisfying rounds of iced milo from the mobile milo truck and there was also something for us to watch when the mediacorp artiste, Rui En came and mingled with the kids. It was not an official appearance i reckon. I heard she drove off in a silver Celica later, i did not pay attention - only remember her thin and fair frame and short stylish bob-hair - like her last role in Channel 8 show - the teacher role she played.

Our colleagues, cladded in bright green t-shirt started to arrive at around 3.15pm. The community run started at 3.45pm. By then, our bosses came to support the event - JJ even came with nice smelling, hot and fresh from the fryer - Old Chang Kee curry puffs. After the community run started, it started to pour. We went around making sure the bags were not drenched. Good thing, the tentage came ready with transparent curtains which we could pull around and keep the rain out.
But our poor colleagues had to ran in the rain throughout, and many came back to the tentage drenched.
But the spirit of JJ and Mr Tan went on - cheering and keeping all in the tent and the runners' spirits up - time seems to speed past more easily.
After the last baggage was cleared, we got to leave at around 5.30. I called DD and waited for him at the hotel.

We went back to have mahjong with Desmond and Zhiming. I was not having a good hand, but good thing Jul was. Later for dinner/supper, we order 3 small crabs (steamed and chilli flavoured) for dinner to share and slowly cleared the crabs till around 11pm. For the records, it was DD's craving.. and i was wondering how true the crab myths and babies were.. hehe (they say, when pregnant eating crabs will make the new born baby turn out to have 'itchy fingers' next time)

Would write more if time permits tomorrow.. sleepy now..
I need to prepare and be ready for conquering my Day 2.

So check out this space again! Gd Night Peeps!

" I never gave any credit to my uterus, never felt proud to be a women - until i was pregnant. Now i felt all the years of menstruation was not in vain, I was created this way and only because i am a women. Thank God!"
